Mission Statement
To help women and their children live lives free of domestic violence and identify/acquire the skills necessary to be self sufficient and good nurturers.
Vision Statement
To prevent future family/domestic violence and eradicate existing family and domestic violence.

- Provide support & guidance to heal and grow
- Provide education to break the cycle of domestic violence
- Provide resources for victims to acquire life skills for greater independence
- Teach parenting skills
- To serve as a liason with other community agencies
- Promote fundraisers to support our goals
Local Statistics
Coastal Women’s Shelter serves Craven, Jones
and Pamlico counties.
Within the tri-county area over the past year:
* Over 4,587 Crisis Line calls were taken.
* Over 5,817 people received client assistance including housing, food, employment assistance, child care, and legal referrals.
* Over 856 people were assisted by
CWS Court Advocates.
* Over 88 women and children
resided in the safe house.
* Over 38 support groups were provided within the tri-county area.
